Kentucky Fried Chicken (KFC)

Oh yes, Bohol has already been infested with fast food chains of both local and foreign origins.  One of them, is Kentucky Fried Chicken, more commonly known as KFC.

KFC is located at the 1st Floor of the Island City Mall in Tagbilaran City.  If you are addicted to chicken, then this is the place where you want to be, as 99% percent of the food in their menu is made up of chicken.

They serve the fattest french fries in town, and their fried chicken tastes unique, and is huge.  Their crew is very friendly, and if ever you left some stuff behind, you're almost gonna be sure that the crew is gonna take it and keep it in a safe place well before other bad elements do.

The downside though, is that during busy times, like from 12pm to 1pm, it takes too long for you to order.  Like more than 15 minutes or so, depending on how long your line is.  I don't know why, maybe its because of the lack of crew members or how they systematize their chores.

Ergo.. :):

Food: 4.5/5
Crew/Service:  4/5
Location: (1st Floor, Island City Mall)

Hi guys.. I know you've probably heard this fast food chain and have eaten in it since you were kids.  But this is exactly why I wanna write about it.

This is one of the most successful Filipino-owned fast food chains, and it had long reached Bohol.  It was opened first before McDonalds.

To this date, I think there are about three (3) branches here in the city.  One in front of Alturas Supermarket, another in Marcela, and in Island City Mall.  All are owned by the Uy (Alturas) Family.

I have described their chicken in my previous article as "homey" why? I think its because of the memories we can bring back from our childhood the moment we take a bite at its glorious crispiness and distinct taste.  I don't know what goes on in other people's minds once they eat there, but that's what definitely goes on in mine.

I remember me sitting in front of my mother, at one of the Jollibee branches in Cebu, enjoying my chicken and her presence to the fullest.  If my wallet agrees, I take my mom to a restaurant and eat.  Its my turn now.  I took her to Pizza Hut the last time, maybe I'll take her to Jollibee next.

Another unforgettable taste they have is that of their spaghetti, I can't describe it the professional way, but I could definitely distinguish it with eyes closed.  Its also one of my childhood favorites.  Then they also have other food like peach mango pie, which turned a lot smaller lately, but tasted the same though.  And, all the other Jollibee classics that don't pretty much weigh or look the same, but sure does taste familiar.

Jollibee has good crew, but I'd still have more appraisals for the McDonalds team for their incredible speed and energy.

Ergo.. :) :

Okay, so this fast food chain doesn't sell Boholano delicacies, but it does cater to the now bustling city life of  Boholanos.  Its fast food that is really fast. Even with long queues during lunch time, you could still get your order  at around 5-10 minutes.  I don't know the standard speed of serving food in chains like these but i do know that their crew and management do a heck of a good job serving food during "rush hours" and at the same time keep everything clean.

I'm not gonna divulge their managerial secrets here, because I'm not really sure how they do it, although I do notice a couple of techniques that only they are doing.

Lets now turn to the food they have.  Well, there's the chicken, the beef, and all that jazz about meals of the same genre.  Its yummy, but it does not really capture the homey taste of its closest rival, especially with their chicken and spaghetti.  Although I find their french fries yummier.  Oh! and one more thing, they refill your gravy for free.. :)

McDonalds is located at the BQ Mall.  It opens 6am to 12am.

Ergo :-) :

Food: 4/5
Crew/service: 5/5
Location: (G/F BQ Mall)
   Accessibility: 5/5
   Ambience    :  2.5/5  -- (don't worry, when you're that hungry, you won't really mind)
   Party/Conference Area

bohol food trip

Earlier this week, (or maybe this month.. sheesh..) I had a lightbulb moment on whats gonna be the topic of my blog.  And this is it, a blog on all the yummy and not so yummy food experiences in bohol.  Im a local, so I gotta share my opinion! ^_^

Hello, hello world!

Here I am in again in another attempt to ride the e-commerce wave with the help of my writing 'abilities'.  This ability however, does not come along with the patience to deal with all the buttons that I had to click and press in order to put up with other bloggers.

That is why my previous blog sucked... and I totally forgot about it until recently...

someone reminded us of its advantage... and then, lo and behold... here we go again, but this time, I got a better view of what Im doing. ^_^
